MONTENEGRO: In January-April both non-life and life insurance see GWP rise

Total GWP of insurance companies operating in Montenegro went up to EUR 55.6 million in the first four months of 2026 from EUR 49.8 million in the like period of last year, according to the country’s Insurance Supervision Agency (ANO), SeeNews reports.

Non-life insurance reached EUR 45.5 million in January-April, up from EUR 40.7 million the year before, while life insurance rose to EUR 10.2 million from EUR 9.1 million in the period under review, ANO said.

Lovcen Osiguranje held the biggest share - 36.6% of the non-life GWP at the end of April, followed by Sava Osiguranje with 20.7%, Uniqa Nezivotno Osiguranje with 18.3%, Generali Osiguranje Montenegro with 14.2% and Grawe Nezivotno Osiguranje with 10.2%.

In life insurance, Wiener Staedtische Zivotno Osiguranje held the biggest share of 49.6% of the four-month GWP, followed by Lovcen Zivotna Osiguranja with 25.6%, Grawe Osiguranje with 19.5% and Uniqa Zivotno Osiguranje with 5.3%.

It is noted that nine insurance companies operated in Montenegro at the end of April, including five active in the non-life and four active in the life insurance segment.
