According to the local insurance agency – AZOBIH, at the end of June 2026, the BiH insurance market totaled EUR 318 million, up by ~5% y-o-y, the growth pace slightly slowing down after Q1. At the same time, the value of claims paid by insurers increased by 11.3% y-o-y to EUR 134.6 million.

The value of GWP of the insurers operating in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina increased by 5.27% to EUR 227 million (71.4% of total GWP), while the Republika Srpska based insurers generated EUR 91 million, up by 4.22% y-o-y.

Non-life insurance premiums increased by 5.3% y-o-y to EUR 261.88 million, while premiums in the life insurance segment went up 3.5% to EUR 56.2 million. From the non-life subclasses, EUR 28.46 million corresponded to the property lines and EUR 192 million to motor insurance (MoD and MTPL, summed).

In GWP terms, the top three largest non-life insurers in the country were FBiH based insurers ASA Central osiguranje (15.8% market share), Adriatic osiguranje (12.22%) and Euroherc osiguranje (10.35%).

On the life insurance side, Uniqa osiguranje (26.62%), Vienna osiguranje (19.49 %) and Triglav osiguranje (17.10%) are forming the Top 3.
