The PZU Group has received approval from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine to acquire 100% of MetLife Ukraine, the leader in the Ukrainian life insurance market.

Obtaining the approval is a significant step in the transaction, which began in May of this year, and allows the company to move to the next stage, including obtaining approval from the National Bank of Ukraine.

"This approval brings us closer to completing one of the most important transactions in the history of the PZU Group outside of Poland", said Bogdan Benczak, CEO of PZU SA. "We believe in the long-term potential of the Ukrainian market and want to actively participate in its further development", he added.

The acquisition of MetLife Ukraine is consistent with the PZU Group's growth strategy in Central and Eastern Europe and strengthens its position in the life insurance segment. MetLife Ukraine is the largest life insurer in Ukraine, with a market share of approximately 50%. The company serves about 900,000 customers and has a strong capital position and liquidity that secures dividend payments.
