Following its 2023 entry into Steinmayr & Co Insurance Brokers, RENOMIA GROUP now has 200 employees in Austria, manages insurance premiums of approximately EUR 200 million, and ranks among the largest insurance brokers for corporate clients in the country.
"The collaboration with KOBAN fits our long-term strategy of connecting with value-driven family businesses. Thanks to this development and to our partnership with Gallagher, RENOMIA clients now have access to a reliable service network worldwide with more than 70,000 professionals", said Pavel Nepala, co-founder and managing partner of RENOMIA.
The roots of KOBAN SÜDVERS, which will now operate under the KOBAN brand, go back to 1920. It later merged with the German family-owned company SÜDVERS, and KOBAN joined in 2010. The group is led by CEO Klaus Koban, president of the Austrian association of insurance brokers VÖVM, who will continue to lead the company after the merger.
"We sought out another partner who shares our values and takes responsibility for future generations. In the RENOMIA and Nepala family we have found exactly these partners. Together, we are creating the conditions to support our clients even more comprehensively in the future while preserving the independence and culture of our company", commented Klaus Koban, CEO of KOBAN.
RENOMIA GROUP and its network RENOMIA EUROPEAN PARTNERS operate in 25 countries across CEE, the Caucasus and Central Asia, with almost 3,000 colleagues. Following this investment, the group will manage insurance premiums exceeding EUR 1.4 billion. Thanks to its partnership with Gallagher, one of the world's largest insurance and reinsurance brokers, RENOMIA can take care about clients anywhere in the world.
RENOMIA's entry into KOBAN is the group's third international acquisition over the past year, following the Lithuanian companies Draudimo bites and Žalu sprendimai (Insurance Bee) in April 2026, and a majority stake in the Warsaw-based broker IRCA in Poland in December 2025.
RENOMIA is one of the leading international companies in the insurance and risk management sector. It was founded in 1993 by Jiřina Nepalová and her sons Jiří and Pavel. The company's goal is to provide clients with high-quality service based on in-depth knowledge of their field and to protect their interests in the insurance market. RENOMIA is a family-owned company with an international presence that provides services to its clients worldwide. Since 2019, RENOMIA's minority shareholder has been the American company Gallagher, the world's third-largest player in the insurance and risk management sector – giving RENOMIA's clients access to Gallagher's global services and expertise in 150 countries.
