KAZAKHSTAN: insurance sector's assets up 23% in 2021
In 2021, the assets of insurance (reinsurance) companies in Kazakhstan increased by 23% and as of January 1, 2022, amounted to KZT 1.8 trillion (~EUR 3.69 billion*), Allinsurance.kz reports referring the data from the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the regulation and development of the financial market (ARRFR).
STATISTICS: KAZAKHSTAN, FY2021: insurers' business expanded by more than 43% y-o-y (in local currency)
At the end of 2021, the insurance sector of Kazakhstan recorded an increase of 43.42% y-o-y, to KZT 814.81 billion (EUR 1.67 billion). At the same time, insurers' paid claims fell by almost 13% to KZT 130.60 billion (EUR 267.75 million), according to data published by the National Bank.

In 2021 Kazakhstan is planning to allocate KZT 3.3 billion (~EUR 6.5 million*) to subsidize agroinsurance. The Kazakh plant growers can insure their farms on the soil moisture index, and that half of the cost of insurance is paid by the state, Kazinform news agency reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture.
