Total GWP of Albanian insurers in the first four months of the year reached ALL 7.67 billion (EUR 77.9 million), which is 8% more y-o-y, SeeNews reports with reference to official figures.

Non-life segment gained 7.9% y-o-y to ALL 6.93 billion in January-April, while the life insurance segment recorded a 10.55% rise to ALL 729.7 million, according to the Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority (AFSA).

Total paid claims decreased by 4.25% y-o-y to ALL 2.7 billion from January to April.

It is noted that the statistics comprise data from eight insurance companies operating in Albania. Sigal Uniqa Group Austria was the non-life largest company in the period under review, accounting for 25.05% of total GWP, followed by Albsig, with 20.41%.
