ARMENIA: Ministry of Health: Insurance coverage in Armenia may reach 80% in 3 years

Insurance coverage in Armenia will reach 80% in 3 years if work in this direction begins on January 1, 2026, as stated by Armenian Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan, ArmInfo writes.

The Minister of Health noted that this approach will contribute to ensuring social justice in the field of medical services, the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Health reports.

Anahit Avanesyan, during a meeting with representatives of one of the leading French companies "Alan", emphasized the need to ensure cooperation with international partners and their support, as well as importance of complete digitalization of the healthcare sector before introducing insurance.

It is noted that Alan is a French company offering digital health insurance services. The company uses artificial intelligence to personalize medical services, optimize claim processing and improve overall operational efficiency.

The concept on introduction of Universal Health Insurance (UHI) was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers on February 2, 2023. Implementation of the system was planned within the next 4 years, the source added.
