"According to the results of 2024, about 19% of insurance premiums on the market come from voluntary insurance of land vehicles. She also drew attention to the trend of increasing number of electric vehicles on the country's roads. According to preliminary estimates, in 2024, almost 7.2 thousand (about 27% of the total number) of them had MoD insurance contracts.
Head of the Main Directorate for Insurance Supervision at the Ministry of Finance of Belarus Sergei Osenko added that the voluntary insurance sector is actively developing in the country. Various types of insurance are in demand: life and health, property, voluntary medical insurance and others.
"The insurance portfolio is balanced. Voluntary insurance contracts generate over 65% of insurance premiums. Contracts concluded by citizens play a significant role", Sergei Osenko noted.
