"Most of the South Eastern Europe countries lack quality actuarial education. On the other hand, each country has different rules for organizing the educational circles for actuaries. It is mostly a matter of scale: there are not enough persons interested by an actuarial career in each country, meaning that it is not cost effective to organize every year educational programs for the actuarial field. We need to set up some regional center for actuarial education," Klime POPOSKI, President Insurance Supervision Agency, Macedonia stated for XPRIMM in a video interview recorded on the occasion of "IIF 2018 - CEE & SEE - Regional Actuarial Insurance Conference".

He explained that such a regional solution "would be cost effective, each country would have the same structure of the program and it will be easier then to recognize and to accept actuarial certification program in each jurisdiction." A regional solution would be facilitate by the similarities among the region"s markets.

The conference brought into debate important topics focusing on the importance of actuarial capacity for effective insurance supervision, the impact of the macroeconomic "movements" upon the insurance business, the importance of actuarial profession for the development of the insurance industry, as well as on the talent hunting issues.

The event was organized by the Macedonian Insurance Supervision Agency and XPRIMM, in Skopje, on 22 February.
