The insurers have already paid out EUR 13 million for the damage caused by the storm at the end of July, which includes compensation for the damage caused to property, agricultural crops and vehicles, according to the data collected by the Latvian Insurers Association (LAA) as of September 11.

The amount of compensations paid out in two weeks has increased by EUR 4 million.

According to the Association, as of September 11, insurers had received 9,400 claims for a total of EUR 22.5 million, which is about 200 claims and EUR 1.5 million more than on August 28. EUR 13 million have been already paid out, which means 68% of all claims have been settled.
