The topics were discussed under three main sessions such as "The Role of Regulators in helping the industry navigate economic challenges", "Threats facing re/insurers on grounds of economic slowdown and rising inflation" and "Impact of supply chain issues on re/insurance".
Well-known and experienced panelists from Regulatory Authorities, Reinsurance/Insurance Companies, Reinsurance/Insurance Brokers and other insurance-related service industries were invited to the Forum to ensure maximum value for the participants.
As part of the event, an opening cocktail, hosted by Milli Re, was held at the Intercontinental Hotel on September 21, 2022.
The Forum started at Hilton Convention Center with the opening speeches of SEDDK President Mehmet Akif Eroglu, TSB President and Turkiye Sigorta General Manager Atilla Benli, Milli Re General Manager Fikret Utku Ozdemir, FAIR President Alaa El-Zoheiry and FAIR Secretary General Mo'men Mukhtar.
The first session "The role of regulators in helping the industry to navigate economic challenges" moderated by FAIR President Alaa El-Zoheiry was discussed among SEDDK President Mehmet Akif Eroglu, TSB President and Turkiye Sigorta General Manager Atilla Benli, Prof. Abhijit Chattoraj, Dean- Students Welfare and Support Services / Professor of Insurance Business Management-BIMTECH and Dr. Mazen Abu Chakra, Regional Director, LH MENA & East Mediterranean- Gen Re.
The first day of the Forum ended with a gala dinner sponsored by Turkiye Sigorta at the Hilton Convention Center and the participants had the opportunity to come together in an enjoyable environment.
The second day of the Forum started with the session of "Threats facing Re/Insurers on Grounds of Economic Slowdowm and Rising Inflation". The session moderated by Remzi Duman - Deputy General Manager at Turkiye Sigorta was discussed by Dr. Oliver Busse - Head of Economic Research Department at Munich Re, Li Xing - Head of Insurance Market Analysis at Swiss Re, Oussama Kaissi - CEO at Islamic Corp. for Insurance of Investments and Export Credit, Brian Shea - Managing Director and Head of Strategic & Financial Analysis and President of Strategic Advisory Unit at Gallagher Re, Hedi Hachicha - Chief Underwriting Officer for Middle East and Africa at Scor Re and finally Mario Baotic - Managing Director at Guy Carpenter.
The topic of the third and final session of the Forum which took place in the afternoon was "The impact of Supply Chain Issues on Re/Insurance". This session was moderated by Omar Gouda - CEO at Misir Insurance Co. Egypt and discussed by Dawoud Al Duwaisan - CEO at Kuwait Re, Yavuz Olken - CEO at AXA Insurance Turkiye, Fahri Altingoz - Chairman at the Turkish Insurance Practitioners Association and Muzaffer Aktas.
The 3rd FAIR Reinsurance Forum which was organized with the participation of around 300 insurance market representatives from 37 countries has been an important occasion to listen to the eminent speakers from different markets and offered a wide network opportunity to the participants.
