The Q1 2023 figures published by the Czech National Bank (CNB) show that the local insurance industry totaled about EUR 2.3 billion - CZK 54.8 billion, up by 6.6% y-o-y.
The life segment was up by 0.8% to CZK 14.2 billion, while the value of paid claims and indemnities - including the change in balance of technical provisions, totaled CZK 9 billion, down by 22% y-o-y.
Non-life GWP totaled CZK 40.6 billion (up by 8.8% y-o-y), while the value of payments declined by 2% y-o-y to CZK 16.5 billion.

The business of Czech insurers member of local professional association - CAP totaled at the end of March 2023 about CZK 42.9 billion (EUR 1.8 billion) up by 5.5% y-o-y, or by CZK 2.2 billion. More details here.
