The GWP of Kosovo insurers increased by 11.3% y-o-y to EUR 98.3 million during January-September 2022 while total gross claims paid increased by 2.2% y-o-y to EUR 46.6 million, as official monthly figures published on the website of the Central Bank showed.

Gross written premiums from non-life insurance totaled EUR 93.4 million, up from EUR 84.8 million during January-September 2021, according to "Insurance Companies Activity" published by CBK, while life insurance premiums increased to EUR 4.9 million from EUR 3.5 million, according to "Financial System - Monthly Information" released by the market authority.

The aggregate net profit of local insurers amounted to EUR 5.5 million at the end of September 2022, down by EUR 0.4 million from EUR 5.9 million a year earlier, according to data published by the Central Bank.

At the same time, the assets held by Kosovo insurance companies increased to EUR 260.7 million as of September 30th, 2022, from EUR 235.7 million a year earlier.

The figures comprise data for 12 insurance companies operating in Kosovo, 10 - non-life insurers and two life companies.
