Following the resignation of the former SEDDK President, Mehmet Akif Eroğlu, appointments were made to the chairmanship and membership of the Insurance and Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Board, effective as of today, when they were published in the Official Gazette with the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Davut MENTEŞ, ex Deputy Chairman of SEDDK was appointed as the president of SEDDK. Davut Menteş, who received his undergraduate degree from Istanbul University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Business Administration, started his career at MÜSİAD Academy with the organization of training activities for the business world, and then continued with the audit-consultancy sector and worked in this field for 5 years with the titles of CPA and chief auditor. Subsequently, he worked as a senior manager in the fast-moving consumer goods, real estate, textile and renewable energy sectors for approximately 15 years. In the insurance and private pension sector, which he entered at the beginning of 2018, he worked at Bereket Sigorta and Bereket Emeklilik companies. Davut Menteş, was appointed as the vice president of SEDDK on July 7, 2022, while serving as the deputy general manager responsible for budget-reporting, corporate communication and support services, as well as financial affairs, finance, law and information technologies functions.
Mehmet VERİM was appointed as the Vice President. Mehmet VERİM graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Political Sciences in 1991. He started his career in 1993 as an Assistant Insurance Auditing Specialist at the Insurance Supervision Board of the Undersecretariat of Treasury. In 1997, he passed the Board's qualification exam and was appointed as Insurance Auditing Specialist by Joint Decision. Between 2000 and 2005, he served as a board member of İnter Sigorta AŞ, representing the Undersecretariat of Treasury, for 5 years. Between 2007 and 2011, he served as the Istanbul Group President of the Republic of Turkey Prime Ministry Undersecretariat of Treasury Insurance Supervision Board for 5 years. With the establishment of the Insurance and Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Agency (SEDDK) in 2020, he was appointed as an Insurance Expert. VERİM was appointed as Advisor to the President in SEDDK in June 2021 and as Vice President in August 2022. During his term as Advisor to the President, he also served as a member of the Report Reading Committee. Representing SEDDK, he has been serving as a Board Member and Deputy Chairman of the Turkish Motor Vehicles Bureau since July 2021, and as a Board Member and Chairman of the Insurance Arbitration Commission since July 2022.
Nevzat ŞEN (previously Financial Affairs Manager at Ziraat Sigorta), Ömer Faruk ÖZTÜRK (previously General Manager of Halk Hayat ve Emeklilik) and Tayfun AKSOYAK (former Legal Advisor at the Undersecretariat of Treasury) were appointed as members of the SEDDK Board.
