UKRAINE: In July, MTIBU's regulatory payments increased by 17.5%

(Motor Transport Insurance Bureau of Ukraine) MTIBU paid UAH 44.9 million (~EUR 1.02 million) from the Bureau's Victims Protection Fund in July, which is 17.5% more than in the previous period. At the same time, the number of regulatory payments increased by 12.2% to 695, Forinsurer writes.

Compensation for damage caused by owners of uninsured vehicles (those responsible for accidents without a valid MTPL policy) remains the largest item of regulatory payments from the Fund and reached 399 payments and UAH 25.7 million amount-wise.

The share of payments for uninsured vehicles in July 2024 amounted to 57.4% of the total amount of payments from the Fund (vs 66% in 2023).

The next large item is payments for drivers of the subsidized category (combatants, persons with disabilities) - 123 payments for UAH 7.7 million (-6.5%). The share of payments for subsidized drivers is 17.3% of the total amount of payments from the Victims Protection Fund.
