CROATIA: 83% of premiums in January-February collected in non-life insurance

In the first two months of 2024, 14 insurance companies, operating in Croatia, collected EUR 287.0 million, of which EUR 48.7 million (17%) came from life insurance, and EUR 238.3 million (83%) – from non-life insurance, HANFA – the Croatian FSA, said.

In the non-life segment, the major share of premiums is generated by motor vehicle liability insurance (36.5%), followed by Motor Hull (19.1%) and fire and natural damage insurance (9.7%).

Total paid claims in the first two months of 2024 reached EUR 219.9 million. Of that amount, EUR 85.4 million (38.9%) was paid in life insurance, and EUR 134.5 million (61.1%) – in non-life insurance. In the total amount of non-life paid claims, the largest shares relate to the same classes: motor vehicle liability insurance (41.4%), Motor Hull (21.1%), fire and natural damage insurance (10.4%), the FSA informed.
