On May 20th -21st this year at the International Hotel Tashkent was held the one of the most important events of its kind in Central Asia - the 7th Tashkent International Investment Financial Forum. The event organizer is SAIPRO Information and Rating Agency, with the official support of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the General Arab Insurance Federation. PRIMM Insurance & Pensions Magazine is the traditional Media Partner of the event.

It is known, the insurance sector is one of the integral parts of a market economy, which ensures the stability of the processes in the economy and support social protection in society based on the principles of market economy. A unique feature of insurance is that it allows all participants of economic processes, as well as the public, to transfer to insurance companies the risks that could cause damage to their property interests.

At present the insurance industry has been developed not only at national or regional level, but also has a worldwide infrastructure, which allows to distribute and minimize risks at the international level. This in turn suggests that the future of the insurance market is directly related to the development of international insurance and reinsurance relations.

It should be noted that the insurance market of Uzbekistan annually demonstrates consistently high growth rates. In particular, according to the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan, in 2013 the volume of insurance premiums increased by 32.1% to 338.5 billion soums. During this period, the insurance companies took over insurance liabilities worth 161.6 trillion soums that exceeds the previous year by 51.0%. The total volume of insurance payments on insured events increased by 53.4% and amounted to 66.9 billion soums.

Given the fact that, the Tashkent international conference on insurance and reinsurance is held within the Tashkent International Investment Financial Forum held annually, its relevance is conditioned by mutual interest in the establishment and strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation between the insurance and reinsurance companies in different countries, discussion of various topical issues affecting market participants, as well as a desire to exchange views and experiences in the field of insurance.

The conference discussed a wide range of issues in various areas of insurance activity, in particular, considered the status, prospects and development of insurance markets of some countries, modern underwriting, insurance market infrastructure, the functioning of some insurance segments, such as property insurance, compulsory insurance, etc.

Representatives of insurance and reinsurance companies and their associations, and other professional participants of the insurance market from different countries made presentations at the conference.
