LANGENBACH to replace FOKKEMA on TALANX AG's Board of Management

Sven FOKKEMA, the member of TALANX AG's Board of Management responsible for the Retail International division, will leave the company by mutual agreement and on the best of terms as of 31 December 2020, as the German insurer announced in a statement.

"He will be pursuing new professional opportunities outside the TALANX Group. TALANX AG's Supervisory Board has appointed Dr Wilm LANGENBACH as his successor. Dr LANGENBACH will take up his position on 1 December 2020".

Sven FOKKEMA joined TALANX in 2011 - initially as Head of Business Development Europe Region at HDI International AG and then as a member of that company's Board of Management from 2012 onwards. He was appointed to TALANX AG's Board of Management and as Chairman of the Board of Management of HDI International AG in 2018. He made a major contribution to the Group's ongoing internationalisation process. In 2012, he was responsible for the acquisition and successful integration of WARTA in Poland. In addition, he successfully managed the organic and inorganic growth of the international retail business both the Group's core markets (Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Poland and Turkey) in other markets such as Italy and Hungary. The most recent example of this was the bolt-on acquisition of Italian property/casualty insurer AMISSIMA.

Dr Wilm LANGENBACH will become a member of TALANX AG's Board of Management and Chairman of the Board of Management of HDI International AG with effect from 1 December 2020. For the past five years he was responsible at AXA Group for developing growth markets in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America, among other places, initially as COO and later on as CEO and then also as CFO. Most recently he was CEO of AXA Mediterranean Holding, CFO of AXA International and New Markets, and Strategic Development Officer for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. In particular, he successfully developed growth markets in Latin America and Eastern Europe. Before joining AXA Group he was a senior partner for the German and European insurance sector at McKinsey & Company, Inc.
