MACEDONIA: Vienna Insurance Group Macedonian Unit Posts Flat Pre-tax Profit in Jan-Sept
Austria's Vienna Insurance Group said on Tuesday its Macedonian non-life insurer Winner posted a pre-tax profit of 300,000 euro ($409,800) in the first nine months of 2011, unchanged from a year earlier.
MACEDONIA: membership in EUROPA Re subjected to the Parliament approval
The Government of the Republic of Macedonia will lend USD 5 million from the World Bank in order to acquire a 19.89 % stake in EUROPA Re, a catastrophe risk reinsurance company in the process of formation owned by countries of Southeast Europe and Caucasus.

Macedonian non-life insurer Vardar Osiguruvanje said it has changed its name to Triglav Osiguruvanje to reflect its ownership ties.
MACEDONIA: Vardar reported 5-percent growth
Gross premiums of insurance company Vardar osiguranje, which is a member of the largest insurance company on the Balkans - Ljubljana-based Triglav, increased by 5 percent in the first six months this year, to EUR 11.2 million. Non-consolidated damage payment amounted to EUR 6.39 million, which accounted for a growth of 1 percent in the same period.
MACEDONIA: Slovenian owner increased capital of Sava Tabak
Macedonian insurance company Sava Tabak, which is in the majority ownership of Slovenian reinsurance company Sava Re, posted a drop of 34 percent in revenues from non-consolidated gross premiums, to EUR 5.9 million in the first six months this year, compared to EUR 9 million in the same period last year.

Macedonian non-life insurance company Winner said it almost doubled its market share in the first quarter of 2011 to 9.17% from below 5.0% in the same period last year.

Macedonian non-life insurer Croatia Osiguruvanje - Nezivot said it turned to an audited net profit of 3.766 million denars ($89,880/61,480 euro) in 2010 from a loss of 10.456 million denars a year earlier.
VIG expands on the life insurance market in Macedonia
Insurance company WINNER Osiguruvanje, member of VIENNA Insurance Group,
received from the national supervisory authority its practice license
for life insurance, starting January the 1st, 2011.
