STATISTICS: CIS, FY2020: the largest GWP decrease was recorded by the Ukrainian market, the smallest - by Azerbaijan (in EUR)

In 2020, the regional insurance market of CIS declined (in European currency) by about 21% * y-o-y to EUR 20.69 billion, according to xprimm statistics.

In European currency, all markets of the region, the data for which was analyzed, recorded a decline, with the largest decline being in the Ukrainian insurance market (-35.16%). In terms of annual decline rates, the insurance market of Armenia ranks second. At the same time, the market of Azerbaijan saw the smallest decrease. The Tajik insurance market, for which data is included for the third quarter of 2020, recorded a decline of about 9% (compared to the third quarter of 2019).

Total paid claims at the regional level decreased by 18.56% y-o-y to EUR 8.67 billion. It should be noted that in the context of individual markets, an increase in paid claims (+40.56%) at the end of 2020 was recorded by Azerbaijan, while the largest decrease was recorded by the market of Kazakhstan (-44.03%).
