Zurich reports record H1 2026 earnings driven by Specialty, Life and P&C growth
Zurich Insurance Group delivered a strong set of results for 1H 2026, reporting net income attributable to shareholders of USD 3.5 billion, up 14% y-o-y, while business operating profit (BOP) reached a record USD 4.8 billion, an increase of 13%.

STATISTICS: CZECHIA, 1Q2026 (CNB): Strong growth, but still affected by claims inflation
According to the Czech National Bank data, Czech insurers ended Q1 2025 with GWP worth EUR 2.75 billion, 9.6% more y-o-y. Gross claims paid, including change in balance of technical provisions, have increased by 6.35%, to EUR 1.19 billion.

At the end of March 2026, the BiH insurance market totaled EUR 150.56 million (BAM 294.48 million), up by 6.94% y-o-y, as the local insurance agency – AZOBIH informed. At the same time, the value of claims paid by insurers expanded by 11.62% y-o-y to EUR 67.08 million.
UKRAINE: In 1H2026 MTPL market rises 7%, while Green Card market contracts by 1.52%
The Ukrainian MTPL market demonstrated positive dynamics across most key indicators in the first half of the year: GWP increased by 7% to UAH 11.74 billion (~EUR 0.24 billion), while paid claims rose by 95% to UAH 5.63 billion (~EUR 0.11 billion), Forinsurer writes, citing a report from the Motor Transport Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTIBU).

The Supervisory Board of Allianz SE and Günther Thallinger mutually agreed that Mr. Thallinger’s term as member of the Board of Management will conclude on December 31, 2026.
