The initiative aims to provide AXA entities with shared and standardized infrastructure for developing AI applications, reducing implementation time and costs while allowing individual businesses to focus on insurance-specific use cases. The platform is vendor-agnostic and incorporates governance, security, compliance, cost management and human oversight throughout the AI lifecycle.
The first version of the Global AI Hub was delivered in July and is already being used by five AXA entities. Operations in Germany, France, Switzerland and the UK, as well as AXA XL, are developing applications in areas including motor claims automation, customer email processing and enterprise knowledge management.
The partnership combines AXA's insurance and AI expertise with Publicis Sapient's enterprise AI engineering capabilities. According to AXA, the centralized approach should also allow the Group to select and orchestrate different large language models and AI capabilities according to individual use cases and cost considerations.
AXA said the Global AI Hub is part of its broader ambition to industrialize AI across the Group while maintaining human oversight for business-critical decisions.
“Artificial intelligence represents a unique opportunity to enhance our innovation capabilities, support our employees and better serve our customers,” said Matthieu Caillat, Group Chief Technology & AI Officer and CEO of AXA Group Operations.
