Prof. Karel van HULLE, Professor Emeritus KU Leuven, Belgium and Honorary Prof. Goethe University, Frankfurt A.M. Germany talked about the Solvency II review process. Prof. W. Jean KWON, St. John's University, New York, USA brought under the limelight the topic of the moral hazard and Artificial Intelligence in insurance. Nic de MAESSCHALCK, Director of BIPAR, the European Federation of Insurance Intermediaries and Director of WFII spoke about the European regulatory developments and trends with an impact on insurance intermediation.
A panel of discussions debated the current challenges for the CEE insurance market. Prof. Randy DUMM, ARIA past-President, Director of the Baldwin Risk Partners School of Risk Management And Insurance, University of South Florida, USA has chaired the panel who reunited several top insurance professionals from Poland and other CEE countries.
The second day hosted two special presentations given by Charlotte HEDEMARK HANCKE, the Federation of European Risk Management Associations (FERMA) in-coming President, Prof. Klime POPOSKI, University St. Kliment Ohridski, North Macedonia and Prof. Ksenija DENCIC-MIHAJLOV, University of Nis, Serbia. Risks management and sustainability issues were the main topics approached by their presentations.
Both days presented also several research paper sessions during which academics from the CEE economic universities have presented the findings of their latest research works.
Eastern European Risk and Insurance Association (EERIA) is a newborn association (2021) whose aim is to promote science and research in the field of risk and insurance, with special attention given to Central Eastern and Southeastern Europe. EERIA’s mission is to broaden the common interests between academicians and practitioners, provide opportunities for professional interaction between and among academicians, practitioners and students, promote the development and understanding of basic and applied research and of sound financial practices, and enhance the quality of education in the field of risk and insurance.
