Polish insurers detected nearly PLN 800 million in insurance fraud and attempted fraud in 2025, up by 18% from PLN 675 million a year earlier, according to the latest report published by the Polish Chamber of Insurance (PIU).

Alta Group, owned by entrepreneur Davor Macura, has acquired insurer ZOIL Makedonija AD Bitola, becoming the owner of all its shares, osiguranje.hr wrote. Following the acquisition, the insurer was renamed Alta Osiguranje AD Skopje. Once the regulatory procedures are completed, the company will offer non-life insurance products.
