The Latvian financial watchdog, the Financial and Capital Market Commission (FKTK), has granted the license for insurance operations to BTA Baltic Insurance Company, a subsidiary of the non-life insurer BTA Insurance Company, the FKTK announced.

The licensing is related to the business plans of BTA Insurance Company and the planned reorganization at the insurance company. After the reorganization, BTA Baltic Insurance Company will be providing insurance services in the Baltic countries but BTA Insurance Company will be providing services in other European countries.
