RUSSIA: Insured amount for the Russian Okhotnik stealth drone will exceed USD 20 million

The Russian latest stealth drone Okhotnik (Hunter), developed by the Sukhoi Aircraft Company, will be insured for almost RUB 1.3 billion (more than USD 18 million), as TASS agency informed according to the government's web portal.

The risks will include its loss (total or constructive total loss), disappearance or damage because of an incident during the insurance period - during of its operation in test, demonstration and familiarization flights, flights under pilot training programs, and also in engine runs, taxiing, ground-based work and system testing on the territory of Russia for 7 months from the date of concluding an insurance contract.

Besides, the drone's ground-based control post will be also insured for another RUB 145.2 million (~USD 2.1 million). Thus, the maximum insurance amount will be over USD 20 million.

The initial contract price is RUB 83 million (~USD 1.2 million). Applications from potential insurers are accepted until June 15.
