Republic of Moldova: Brokers mediated 28% out of the total premiums

The 65 brokerage companies active on the market in the Republic of Moldova mediated MLD 58.38 million - EUR 3.54 million, in the first three months of the current year. The figure represents, according to the data published by the supervisory authorities in Chisinau, 27.53% of the total insurance market. Altogether, in comparison with the period January - March of 2010, the volume of premium mediated by brokers grew, nominal in the European currency, by 36.7%.

In the analyzed period of time, the portfolio belonging to the brokerage market was composed out of 82% motor insurance: 35.65% Motor Hull, 14.7% AORCA, 26% Green Card, 5.65% other types of motor insurance. This was completed by 7.8% life insurance, 4.6% property insurance, 3% health insurance, 1.5% liability and 0.8% accidents.

A very important contribution was brought by insurance brokers on motor insurance line - mediation societies generating 52.3% of the total underwritten premiums motor hull. At the same time, brokers have mediated about 28% of the total underwritten life insurance premiums on the market and 44.3% of the total general liability insurance.
