SERBIA: Consolidated net profit of Dunav Osiguranje jumps by 54% in 1H

According to the Serbian state-controlled insurer Dunav Osiguranje, its consolidated net profit rose by 54% on the year in the first six months of 2025 to RSD 2.9 billion (EUR 24.8 million), SeeNews writes.

In 1H2025 the insurer’s total consolidated operating revenue rose by 1.2% to RSD 24.1 billion, as operating costs dropped by an annual 6.8% to RSD 15.8 billion.

Dunav's consolidated income from insurance premiums increased by 8.6% to RSD 19.8 billion, while its income from reinsurance premiums rose by 9.8% to RSD 2.5 billion.

It is noted that Dunav has five subsidiaries in Serbia: reinsurer Dunav Re, vehicle inspection firms Dunav Auto and Dunav Auto Logistika, pension insurer Dunav, and Dunav Stockbroker. It also has two subsidiaries in Bosnia's Serb Republic entity - Dunav Osiguranje Banja Luka and Dunav Auto Banja Luka.

In 1H all subsidiaries operated at a profit, except for Dunav Auto Banja Luka, which reported a net loss. The biggest contributor to the consolidated net profit was Dunav Osiguranje with a standalone result of RSD 1.86 billion (EUR 15.9 million).

At the end of the first quarter, Dunav was the largest insurer by premium income in Serbia, followed by Generali and the local arm of Italy's UnipolSai - DDOR, according to most recent data from the central bank.
