The Moldavian Information System is on trial

12 April 2012 — Vlad BOLDIJAR
One of the major challenges that the Chisinau supervision authority must face in 2012 is the completion of the informatic system for MTPL policies: "As far as the implementation process goes, we wish we could have used the electronic issuing system from a while back, but the context didn't allow it", declared Vladimir STIRBU.

"At first, it was planned as a department system between CNPF (The National Financial Market Commission of Moldova) and operators, but it was suggested that we created a State informatic system and certain rigors specific to such a system needed to be fulfilled. We had to comply with the request and that took us time. In the final phase of the implementation system we were asked to deliver a technical concept of the system, a legal base on which the system would function, but it had to be approved by the Government as a normative act, which only happened in January 2012. We are now on trial period, and soon the system will enter the pilot phase," added Vladimir STIRBU.

This new information system will also facilitate the introduction of the Bonus-Malus system, whose main purpose is to discipline the driver, by awarding bonus or malus based on his claims history. The estimated term for launching this system is the beginning of 2013.
