The agreement provides for the cooperation of the state financial institutions of Ukraine and Belarus in the insurance of export credits and investments. The main purpose of cooperation is to increase the trade between the two countries and implement investment projects.
"Ukreximbank values highly the cooperation with Belarus," said Chairman of the Board of Ukreximbank Vitaly Belous. "The signing of the agreement between our companies is the logical continuation of close relations in the economic and investment areas between the two states," he added.
In the near future the parties are going to translate the agreement into reality, exchange consultations and information, and implement large investment projects.
"The main goal of Ukreximbank and Eximgarant of Belarus is to stimulate trade between Belarus and Ukraine, this is something the businessmen of our countries are interested in," said General Manager of Eximgarant of Belarus Gennady Mitskevich. "Our financial institutions will complement each other, and we are ready to share our experience in export insurance and export crediting with a view to strengthening economic ties. We are looking forward to close cooperation with Ukreximbank, one of the largest and most respected banks of Ukraine, as part of the implementation of the certain programs," Gennady Mitskevich noted.
Eximgarant of Belarus is one of the largest insurers of the country with the 100% state capital. It has the exclusive right to insure export risks on behalf of the Republic of Belarus. The amount of the insured export credits and investments has exceeded $2 billion. Eximgarant of Belarus joined the Prague Club of the International Union of Credit and Investment Insurers in 2002.
