Familyman, strategist and philosopher are the three words with which Hartwig Löger, the new CEO of the Vienna Insurance Group (VIG) defines himself in a short video recording published on the Group’s website.

He values especially diversity, a diversity that gives the opportunity to develop the best solutions for the Group using the experience and capabilities of many nations and societies. Communicating openly and transparently, working together as equals to maximize cooperation within the Group, especially considering that the current economic environment is a difficult one says Löger.

Boasting 38 years' experience in the insurance industry, Hartwig Löger took on the position of General Manager and Chairman of the Managing Board as of July 2023, taking over the difficult task of managing the nost important insurance group in the CEE region for Elisabeth Stadler, who retired. He started his career in the insurance industry in 1985 and joined the Group in 1997 as head of sales for Donau Versicherung, a position he held until 2002. He has been a member of the VIG Managing Board since January 2021 and Deputy CEO to Elisabeth Stadler since mid-September 2021.
