ARMENIA: All insurers in the country join the universal health insurance system

On February 25, a memorandum was signed in Yerevan between the Universal Health Insurance Fund and the rest three insurance companies – Nairi Insurance, Rego Insurance, and Armenia Insurance. Thus, all seven insurers operating in the country have joined the universal health insurance system, ArmInfo reports.

The Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships, which will allow for mutually complementary approaches. According to the minister, not only citizens, but also the insurance market will benefit from signing of the document.

It is noted that on February 9, a signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Universal Health Insurance Fund and Ingo, EFES, Liga Insurance, and Sil Insurance took place in Yerevan. Under the Memorandum, the parties will cooperate in developing a universal health insurance system and improving the quality of medical services, regularly exchanging information and discussing issues of mutual interest.
