ARMENIA: In 1Q2025 tax payments of the insurance sector decrease by 7% y-o-y

3 out of 7 insurance companies, operating on the Armenian market, were included into the list of 1000 largest taxpayers of Armenia in 1Q2025, as in the previous year - LIGA Insurance, INGO and Sil Insurance, according to the data of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia, ArmInfo writes.

During the reporting period, the insurance sector of Armenia reduced tax payments to the state treasury by 7% y-o-y, having paid AMD 410.7 million (~USD 1.05 million) to the budget.

Among insurance companies, the leader in tax payments is LIGA Insurance, which ranked 438th in the list, having paid AMD 177.3 million to the state budget. Followed by INGO, that ranked 515th, having paid AMD 151.6 million to the state budget. This year, Sil Insurance was included in the list - the company ranked 962nd and paid AMD 81.7 million to the state budget.

It is noted that according to the Financial Rating of Insurance Companies of Armenia as of 31.03.2025, prepared by ArmInfo, out of 7 insurance companies operating in the country, 6 managed to end 1Q with a profit. Thus, total pre-tax profit increased by 85.7% y-o-y, amounting to AMD 922.6 million (USD 2.4 million) at the end of the first quarter. After tax, total net profit amounted to AMD 807.2 million (USD 2.1 million). The leader in net profit was LIGA Insurance, followed by REGO Insurance, and EFES. Only Sil Insurance ended 1Q2025 with a loss.
