CROATIA: Ante Žigman relieved of duty as President of Hanfa Board of Directors due to appointment as Governor of the Croatian National Bank

At the proposal of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, the Croatian Parliament has dismissed Dr. Ante Žigman from the position of President of the Board of Directors of the Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency (Hanfa), osiguranje.hr writes.

The dismissal is based on Ante Žigman's personal request for appointment to the new position of Governor of the Croatian National Bank.

Ante Žigman served as the President of the Hanfa Board of Directors for more than eight years: the first term from February 2018 to February 2024, and the second from February 2024 to June 2026.

During his tenure as President of the Board of Directors of Hanfa, Ante Žigman made a significant contribution to the development of the institution and strengthening of its regulatory and supervisory role in the Croatian financial market. His mandate was marked by further strengthening of institutional capacities, improvement of the regulatory framework, intensive cooperation with domestic and international institutions, and active participation in European and global regulatory processes.

Hanfa thanks Ante Žigman for his professional and dedicated performance of his duties and for the cooperation achieved with employees, financial market representatives, domestic and international institutions, and other stakeholders important for stability and development of the Croatian financial system, the source said.
