EUREKO and GARANTI Bank closed in early June the sale of 20% shares in EUREKO SIGORTA to EUREKO, the insurance Group announced. EUREKO is now 100% owner of the leading Turkish insurance company. Regulatory authorities approved the transaction.

According to the Group press release, for EUREKO, the expansion of the business in Turkey fits perfectly within its international strategy in which Turkey is, next to Russia and Greece, one of the three focus countries.

EUREKO's statutory seat is in Amsterdam and its head offices are in Zeist, both in the Netherlands. Also, the group is active in 8 European countries through different insurance brands: ACHMEA (Netherlands), EUREKO (Romania), EUREKO SIGORTA (Turkey), FRIENDS FIRST (Ireland), INTERAMERICAN (Bulgaria), INTERAMERICAN (Greece), ORANTA (Russia) and UNION (Slovakia).
