European Retirement Week: debating the future of pensions in Europe

Europe’s first ever Retirement Week is organized from 29 November to 3 December at the initiative of 11 European associations, aiming to provide a platform for a wide range of stakeholders to debate the future of pensions in Europe and raise citizens’ awareness of the need to save for retirement.

The series of events under the titles “European Retirement Week “ opens with a keynote speech by European Commissioner Mairead McGuinness and quick-fi re contributions from the participating associations on the key priorities for pensions and trends shaping the pensions landscape.

Anticipating the week of events, Insurance Europe will host on 26 November a breakfast, in-person and online event, that will be held between 8:30-9:30 CET at the Insurance Europe venue on 23 Rue du Champs de Mars, Pine Room.

Under the title “Wake up to the pension challenge”, the gathering will reunite youth leaders, industry experts, and policymakers to explore ways to secure pension adequacy and sustainability for all generations.

  • Laurent Doubrovine, Chair, Personal Insurance Committee, Insurance Europe and Head of Partnerships & Corporate Business Development, Société Générale Assurances, France
