The governance reform process launched by the Italian Insurance Association (ANIA) in 2025 has reached its final milestone with the appointment of Andrea BERTALOT as Director General, a newly established position introduced under the Association’s revised statutes, which entered into force in December 2025.
The appointment was unanimously approved by ANIA’s Executive Committee during its meeting on May 26.
Andrea Bertalot was selected for his extensive professional expertise, strong managerial background, and in-depth knowledge of the Italian insurance market. Holding a degree in Economics and Business Administration, Bertalot has built a long-standing career in the insurance sector, taking on roles of increasing responsibility within Reale Group. Most recently, he served as Group Chief Italy Insurance Officer and Deputy General Manager of Reale Mutua Assicurazioni, Italy’s largest mutual insurance company.
“Thanks to Andrea’s appointment, we have completed the Association’s statutory reform process,” said ANIA President Giovanni Liverani. “His arrival strengthens our technical and operational structure as we prepare to address the major challenges outlined in our strategic agenda.”
The appointment will take effect on July 15, 2026.
