MONTENEGRO: In January-April the insurance sector generates almost EUR 50 million

From January to April this year total GWP of insurance companies operating in Montenegro rose to almost EUR 50 million from 46 EUR million a year earlier, according to the country’s Insurance Supervision Agency, ANO, SeeNews reports.

Non-life segment totalled EUR 40.7 million in January-April, up from EUR 37.9 million in the same period of last year, while life insurance rose to EUR 9.1 million from EUR 8.1 million, ANO said.

Lovcen Osiguranje held the biggest share, of 37.5%, in the non-life segment in January-April, followed by Sava Osiguranje with 21.2%, Uniqa Nezivotno Osiguranje with 18.3%, Generali Osiguranje Montenegro with 14.1%, and Grawe Nezivotno Osiguranje with 7.9%.

In the life insurance segment, Wiener Stadtische Zivotno Osiguranje held the biggest share of 46% of the segment premiums, followed by Lovcen Zivotna Osiguranja with 26.6%, Grawe Osiguranje with 21.9%, and Uniqa Zivotno Osiguranje with 5.5%.

It is noted that nine insurance companies operated in Montenegro in the first four months of 2025, including five active in non-life insurance and four active in life insurance.
