According to Jan Grzegorz Prądzyński, President of the Management Board of the Polish Chamber of Insurance (PIU), 2025 confirmed that both the Polish and European markets are currently undergoing structural change, Gazeta Ubezpieczeniowa (Insurance Gazette) writes.

According to the President of the PIU, the industry is entering a phase where advantage is built not only on product and customer service quality, but also on the ability to quickly adapt and leverage technological advantages. Other key highlights included the continued digitization of claim settlement processes and collaboration with public administration on this project.

According to Jan Grzegorz Prądzyński, from the perspective of European legislation, publication of the amendments to the Solvency II Directive and the Insurance Recovery and Resolution Directive (IRRD), along with the implementation work and consultations conducted by EIOPA, were of key importance in 2025. The President of the PIU noted that 2026 will focus on implementing the IRRD into Polish legislation.

The President expressed hope that the planned economic and political processes related to, among others, accelerated energy transformation, including construction of nuclear power plants and offshore wind farms, as well as development of communication infrastructure, especially railway and aviation, will create opportunities for construction and building insurance, civil liability insurance, transport insurance, and insurance guarantees.

According to the head of the Polish Chamber of Insurance, in the long term, health and life insurance and development of private pension products will remain key areas.
