At the end of 2025, the Belarusian insurance market totaled BYN 2,870.54 million (EUR 840.08 million), up 9.69% y-o-y, according to data published by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Belarus.

Voluntary insurance (including imputed insurance) generated BYN 1,871.47 million in 2025. The market share of voluntary insurance remained almost unchanged at 65.2% (vs 65.8% in 2024). In voluntary insurance portfolio, the largest contributions are made by personal insurance (42%) and property insurance (48%).

Mandatory insurance in 2025 amounted to BYN 999.07 million, accounting for 34.8% of the total market (vs 34.2% in 2024). Personal insurance occupies 53.16% of the mandatory insurance portfolio, while liability insurance accounts for 42.67%.

In 2025, paid claims in the republic totaled BYN 1,640.39 million (EUR 480.07 million), which is 8.56% more y-o-y. Of the total, voluntary insurance (including imputed insurance) accounted for 67.1%, while mandatory insurance accounted for 32.9%. The share of paid claims in total premiums for 2025 decreased by 0.6 percentage points compared to 2024, reaching 57.1%.

In 2025, 11,235.7 thousand insurance contracts were concluded, representing a 2.8% increase compared to 2024.

The total amount of insurance reserves accumulated by insurance companies in the country as of the end of 2025 increased by 14.1% to BYN 4,826.4 million. Insurance assets amounted to BYN 8,012.3 million (+5.8%).

As of December 31, 2025, 17 insurance companies operated in the Belarusian insurance market, three of which offer voluntary life insurance, and one exclusively offers reinsurance.
