According to the National Bureau of Statistics, Moldova's insurance sector totaled MDL 2,443.91 million at the end of 3Q2025, up only 0.9% y-o-y (EUR 124.63%).

Among insurance classes, double-digit growth was notable in overall property insurance and Motor Hull, while other classes saw insignificant growth or even a decline.

Total paid claims reached MDL 1,046.76 million, or 16.1% more y-o-y. Their growth was observed across virtually all types of insurance, with the exception of property insurance, where paid claims decreased by 18.30% in local currency.

According to the Bureau, total revenue and expenses of the insurance sector were 0.3% and 3.7% higher than the same period in 2024, respectively.

Insurers' pre-tax profit in the reporting period decreased by 48% y-o-y, the Bureau said on its website.
