In the first half of 2025, the insurance sector of Uzbekistan grew by 46.03% y-o-y and amounted to UZS 6.23 trillion (EUR 420.76 million), according to data published by the National Agency for Prospective Projects of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The growth of life insurance was three-digit, GWP in the segment reached UZS 384.22 billion, and the share in the market portfolio was 6.16%. At the same time, non-life insurance continues to dominate the market, occupying about 94%.

In the non-life insurance segment, growth at the end of the half-year was observed in all classes except for Motor Hull, which decreased by 54.39% at once. It is worth noting that among all insurance classes, only credit insurance has a double-digit share on the market.

Insurers' paid claims rose by 11.59%, reaching UZS 1.24 trillion (EUR 84.04 million). It is noteworthy that in life insurance, paid claims in the reporting period decreased by 5.87%, while in non-life insurance they increased by 12.74% (in UZS).

The leaders in terms of GWP in the non-life segment among 28 insurers are Apex Insurance (UZS 1.99 trillion), O‘ZBEKINVEST (UZS 709.16 billion) and GROSS SUG‘URTA KOMPANIYASI (UZS 399.45 billion). In life insurance, Apex Life Insurance continues to lead among 6 insurers, with its share in the segment reaching 80.53%.
