STATISTICS: Serbian H1 insurers' business increased by 12% y-o-y
Serbian insurance market expanded by almost 12% y-o-y during H1 2022 to RSD 67.56 billion (~EUR 575.5 million), according to the quarterly figures published on the website of National Bank of Serbia (NBS).

Non-life GWP was up by 14% y-o-y to RSD 53.93 billion (EUR 459.4 million), while the life insurance segment totaled RSD 13.63 billion, up by 4% y-o-y. The value of paid claims totaled RSD 28.56 billion (up by 19.5% y-o-y) of which RSD 9.20 billion - life indemnities (up by 7.2%) and RSD 19.36 billion (+26.4% y-o-y) related to non-life classes.

DUNAV was the largest insurance company in the country, accounting for 26.3% of total GWP. GENERALI osiguranje followed with 19.2%, while DDOR was third with 11.6%. A total of 16 insurance companies operated in the country at the end of June 2022.
