UNIQA narrows negative 9-mo pre-tax earnings in MONTENEGRO

Austrian insurance group UNIQA said on Wednesday its negative earnings before taxes from operations in Montenegro narrowed to 277,000 euro in the first nine months of 2014 from 578,000 a year earlier.

Premiums volume written from operations in Montenegro rose by 10.2% to 8.6 million euro through September, UNIQA said in a financial report.

Gross written premiums on the non-life insurance segment in Montenegro accounted for 7.4 million euro of the total premiums volume through September, up 10.3% on the year. Gross written premiums from life-insurance rose by 9.7%.
