The assets managed by insurance companies operating in North Macedonia amounted to MKD 37.3 billion (EUR 605.6 million) at the end of 2024, which is 8.2% more y-o-y, SeeNews writes with reference to the central bank.

It is noted that the main driver of the insurance companies' asset growth was higher investments in debt and equity securities, with additional gains from other components, according to the central bank.

Compared to the end of the previous quarter, assets managed by North Macedonia's insurers fell 1.2% in 4Q2024 due to declines in other claims and insurance technical reserves, despite growth in other instruments.

The report covers 16 insurance companies in North Macedonia - 11 non-life and 5 life insurers, the source added.
