In January this year the National Bank of Tajikistan has granted operating licenses to two new insurance companies - MEHRUBON and Tajik-Chinese Insurance.

Tajik-Chinese Insurance has got its license on January 3, 2019, and MEHRUBON - on January, 23. At that Tajik-Chinese Insurance already used to work on the market and earlier its license expired in the beginning of 2016, when the company decided not to prolong it.

At the moment, there are 20 insurers working on the Tajik insurance market, and 2 of them are state insurance companies (TAJIKSUGURTA and Tajiksarmoyaguzor). The most active insurers of the private sector are LIDER Insurance, MUIN, TRUD and ESHATA Sugurta. Among the prevailing classes on the market it's worth noting property insurance, personal insurance, liability insurance and life insurance, as the Media Group ASIA-Plus informed.
