Starting April 1, 2026, the maximum deposit insurance limit in Georgia will be increased from GEL 30,000 to GEL 50,000 (equivalent to USD 18,400), according to a post on the Faeton Telegram channel.

It is noted that this is the third increase of the insurance limit since the deposit protection system was introduced in January 2018. Initially, the system covered all deposits up to GEL 5,000. In 2020, the limit was increased to GEL 15,000, and in 2024, to GEL 30,000.

As of August 2025, total volume of insured deposits exceeded GEL 11.3 billion (equivalent to USD 4.17 billion), the post says.
