At the end of March 2022, the insurance market of North Macedonia totaled MKD 2.98 billion (EUR 48.37 million), up by 11% y-o-y, according to preliminary data published by the local Insurance Supervision Agency.

GWP from non-life insurance increased by 9.50% y-o-y to MKD 2.49 billion (83.44% of total GWP), while the life insurance segment totaled of MKD 494 million, 19.20% more y-o-y, official figures show.

In terms of GWP, the largest life insurer in the country was CROATIA (with GWP of MKD 155.7 million, ~EUR 2.5 million, a 31.5% market share), followed by GRAWE (21.7%) and WINNER VIG (18.6%).

TRIGLAV led the non-life ranking (13.43%), ahead of EUROLINK (13.40%) and CROATIA Non-Life (10.59%).
